Objectives of the Conference

Main Objective

The general objective of the conference is to provide an international interdisciplinary platform for examining the role of Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, technical education and innovation in advancing sustainable and inclusive development in Africa.

Specific Objectives

The conference will seek to:

  1. Examine the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies on technical and higher education.
  2. Explore innovative approaches for integrating AI and digital technologies into teaching, learning and research.
  3. Examine the future of technical and vocational education in the context of Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies.
  4. Promote research and innovation in engineering, ICT, agriculture, management and other industrial sciences.
  5. Identify opportunities for technology-driven entrepreneurship and employment creation.
  6. Examine the role of emerging technologies in addressing African development challenges.
  7. Promote university-industry-government collaboration.
  8. Encourage technology transfer, research commercialisation and innovation ecosystems.
  9. Examine ethical, social, legal and governance challenges associated with Artificial Intelligence.
  10. Promote green technologies, renewable energy and climate-smart innovation.
  11. Strengthen the capacity of teachers, researchers, students and professionals to respond to emerging technological trends.
  12. Generate practical recommendations for policymakers, universities, industries and development organisations.
